As part of its mandate to empower vulnerable individuals through healthcare and other forms of support, OGEMEK Charity Foundation, in partnership with the Nigerian Correctional Service, Enugu Custodial Centre, recently concluded a three-day free medical outreach for inmates.

The outreach, which ran from 25th to 27th September 2025, reached over 200 inmates with essential medical services, provided by a dedicated team of healthcare professionals including dentists, opticians, laboratory scientists, nurses, physiologists, and volunteers.

The team offered malaria screenings, blood sugar checks, PSA tests for men over 40, blood pressure monitoring, as well as eye and dental examinations. Free medications for various illnesses were distributed, and health education sessions were delivered to help inmates gain practical knowledge for better self-care.

Guided by biblical teaching in Matthew 25:36, the foundation carried out the outreach to bring comfort, health, and encouragement to inmates, reflecting its commitment to serve those often overlooked by society.

Meanwhile, in line with its mandate of empowering people to build stronger, self-reliant communities, OGEMEK Charity Foundation has expressed its commitment to sustaining similar programs and calls on well-meaning and compassionate individuals to partner with the organization to expand the impact of future outreaches and reach more people in need.
