Doris Mayim-Shishe is a communications specialist and health journalist with over nine years’ experience that spans broadcast media, strategic communication, and nonprofit advocacy. She holds a degree in Mass Communication from the University of Cross River State, is an alumna of the National Broadcast Academy, Lagos, and has a Master’s in progress at Caritas University.

She is the host and producer of Gyna+ on Afia TV, a women’s health programs that centers practical, everyday conversations around health and well-being.

In addition to her broadcast work, Doris serves as Media and Communications Director at OGEMEK Charity Foundation, where she leads messaging, media relations, and advocacy communication for programs supporting vulnerable families.

Doris also serves on the Board of Directors of OGEMEK Charity Foundation, contributing to governance and strategic direction.

Prior to this, she served as Head of News at Afia TV, where she led newsroom operations and helped shape stories grounded in local realities and public interest.

Her professional development includes training with UNICEF (Communication for Development – C4D), the Free to Be Me Media Fellowship by the Access to Good Health Initiative, BBC Media Action, the Thomson Reuters Foundation, and the Media Rights Agenda.

As a communications specialist, Doris brings her expertise to presenting, producing, and writing, always with a focus on amplifying the voices of women, children, and underserved communities. She’s married with three children.
