Hello friends,

The past few months have been a meaningful time for us at Ogemek  Charity Foundation. We’ve continued to reach more people, build partnerships, and strengthen our work across communities. From health outreaches to skills empowerment & media engagements to extending our presence beyond Nigeria, it’s been a season of growth and impact made possible by the love and support we share for humanity.

Our mission remains clear; to serve with compassion, empower through knowledge and skills, and create opportunities that restore dignity and hope.

Let’s take you through what we’ve been up to from August to October 2025…

Bringing Care Closer to The People

In August, our team in collaboration with Assemblies of God Church, Coal Camp, Enugu State, Nigeria held a free medical outreach at the church premises, where over 80 people received healthcare support. There were general medical tests, prostate screenings, eye and dental checks, vitals check, blood sugar test and free medications for several illnesses. What made it more special was the passion our volunteers brought, doctors, nurses, lab scientists, opticians, and young helpers all working hand in hand to bring relief and smiles.

World Humanitarian Day:  Our Media Engagements

Still in August, to mark World Humanitarian Day, our Chief Executive Officer, Dr Fredrick Iloegbune and Executive Director, Mrs Chika Owuamalam featured on AfiaTV and Radio respectively, discussing the need for compassion, unity, and consistent acts of service.

Official Launch in September

The month of September marked a new chapter as we officially inaugurated Ogemek Charity Foundation in Enugu State, this event brought together our staff members, volunteers and beneficiaries.

During the ceremony, six operational arms were unveiled: Medical, Catering/Hospitality, Fashion, Media, ICT, and Learning & Development.

Each department reflects our core belief that true empowerment must touch every aspect of human need, from health to livelihood, education to self-sufficiency.

Across the quarter, Ogemek gained wider visibility, with our stories featured on local blogs, and our CEO appearing on Solid FM and Voice of the East TV, an indigenous Igbo media platform. These engagements gave us the chance to share our journey, values, and impact.

Similarly, on International Day of Charity, our CEO was again honoured with another media interview on Afia Radio, where he shared insights on the spirit of giving.

To further commemorate the day, the team visited a sick woman in the hospital, sharing love, encouragement, and a few supplies; a simple act that captured what OGEMEK stands for.

Healthcare Behind Bars  

Still in September, our medical team carried out a three-day outreach at the Enugu Correctional Centre, offering medical consultations, vitals check eye checks, dental care, blood glucose and free drugs to more than 200 inmates.

It was a deeply emotional experience one that reaffirmed our belief that compassion should reach everyone, including those behind bars.

Building Bonds & Broadening Reach

October was a month of meaningful connections and growth for Ogemek Charity Foundation. our presence officially extended beyond Nigeria with the registration of our Sierra Leone branch, a step that reinforces our vision of spreading agape empowerment across borders.

We also opened new doors of collaboration as our team met with the leadership of Carmelite Prisoners Interest Organization (CAPIO) to discuss possible partnerships. This meeting has paved the way for an upcoming joint prison outreach scheduled for November.

In the same spirit of service, our team held a consultative meeting with traditional rulers in Owerre Nsukka, ahead of a planned community outreach that will bring free medical care to residents in the area.

Our Impact So Far

Across the quarter, we are proud to share some of the milestones achieved:

• Over 280 people reached through free medical and health programs.
• 7 girls enrolled in our Fashion School through the skills empowerment program.
• 2 students currently benefiting from our scholarship scheme.
• Expanded reach to Sierra Leone
• Built growing partnerships with organizations like CAPIO to deepen our impact.

Looking Ahead

Come November 8, OGEMEK Charity Foundation will join CAPIO for a major outreach at the Nsukka Correctional Center, bringing medical services, counseling, and hope to inmates.

We’ll also be launching the maiden edition of our Learning and Mentorship program for civil servants, with focus on practical skills and wellbeing after retirement.
